Steps

  1. 1 Prime the miniature in grey, then stipple Hellbound Flesh over all the skin for a mottled, textured base coat.
  2. 2 Wash the whole miniature with Drakenhof Nightshade to build shadows and set up highlights.
  3. 3 Base-coat the base: German Camo Black Brown for the dirt, Cold Grey for some stones, Steel Legion Drab for others, Mournfang Brown for the wood.
  4. 4 Paint the bones scattered on the base and the foglet's teeth with Screaming Skull.
  5. 5 Add leaves: Jokaero Orange for a dead, dry look, Deathworld Forest for the rest, stippled around the rocks for moss and greenery.
  6. 6 Dry-brush Flayed One Flesh over the whole base to bring out highlights.
  7. 7 Shade the base: a Biel-Tan Green and Agrax Earthshade mix on the dirt, a plain Agrax Earthshade wash everywhere else, then paint the rim Abaddon Black.
  8. 8 Highlight the foglet's limbs and head with a dry-brushed mix of Flayed One Flesh and Hellbound Flesh, built up over a few passes.
  9. 9 Wash the chest and lower head with Biel-Tan Green for a green hue, keeping the limbs paler.
  10. 10 Shade the teeth and fill in the nose and eye sockets with Nuln Oil.
  11. 11 Base-coat the glowing chest cavity with Pastel Yellow, then add White to the center of the cavity and the eyes for a glow effect.
  12. 12 Add Carroburg Crimson to the ear tips, a heavier wash on the mouth for blood, and around the chest cavity.
  13. 13 Base-coat the claws with German Grey, highlighted off-camera with a touch of white.
  14. 14 Reestablish a few teeth with Screaming Skull where they got covered by red, then build the chest-glow highlight by layering Hellbound Flesh mixed with progressively more Pastel Yellow.
