Painting THE BRUXA from The Witcher: Old World
In this video I show you how I painted The Bruxa from The Witcher: Old World Board Game.
Steps
- 1 Base-coat all of her skin (everything but the hair) with Bugman's Glow.
- 2 Base-coat the bark side of the chopped logs on the base with Dryad Bark.
- 3 Base-coat the barrel and the wagon wheel with Mournfang Brown.
- 4 Base-coat the large post she's hanging from, and the wooden decking beneath it, with English Uniform.
- 5 Base-coat the inside of the chopped firewood with Zandri Dust.
- 6 Base-coat her hair with Black Grey.
- 7 Base-coat the dirt on the rest of the base with German Cam. Black Brown.
- 8 Paint the metal straps around the barrel and the edge of the base with Abaddon Black.
- 9 Dry-brush Iraqi Sand over the entire base, including the wooden post, to bring out the texture.
- 10 Wash the dirt part of the base with Nuln Oil, pooling a little in each spoke of the wagon wheel.
- 11 Wash all the wood — firewood, wooden post, barrel, and wagon wheel — with Agrax Earthshade.
- 12 Fill in the inside of her eyes with Abaddon Black.
- 13 Paint the fangs and teeth with Silver Grey.
- 14 Dot in the eyes with Fluo Red, applying two or three coats to make it stand out.
- 15 Highlight the skin by mixing Harvester Flesh into the Bugman's Glow base coat, building thin layers over the upward-facing surfaces — thighs, knees, calves, heels, and upper arms.
- 16 Highlight the hair by mixing Silver Grey into the Black Grey base, applying short sharp strokes along the hair's contour and focusing the brightest, near-pure Silver Grey highlights on smaller areas.
- 17 Thin Reikland Fleshshade with water and shade the downward-facing skin and the creases and folds — knee bends, hip bends, the armpit, and between the fingers.
- 18 Darken the hair with several coats of Nuln Oil, letting each dry before the next.
- 19 Dot in the nipples with Dark Fleshtone, then mix in a little Harvester Flesh for a small highlight.
- 20 Apply Blood For The Blood God over her claws, where she grips the pillar, and around her mouth and dripping down her face.
