How to Paint The Wolf Man from Horrified

Steps

1. 1 After priming black, mix a dark grey from Black and White and base coat the pants.
2. 2 Mix a slightly lighter grey and base coat the shirt.
3. 3 Mix a light grey (starting from White with Black added in) and base coat all the exposed skin/fur — face, hands, and feet.
4. 4 Base coat the head hair, wrists, and ankles in pure Black, carefully working around the sideburns and beard to keep the center of the face lighter, and add a small black nose; extend a little black hair out from the sleeves and pant cuffs onto the hands and feet.
5. 5 Highlight the pants by adding a touch more White to the pants grey and building it up over several layers on the raised areas — upper leg, knee, calf muscle, backside, and a bit at the pant cuffs for dirt.
6. 6 Highlight the shirt the same way, mixing more White into the shirt grey over several layers on the folds, rips, collar, and pockets.
7. 7 Highlight the skin/fur with White mixed into the face grey — toes, ankles, and individual fingers on both sides of the hands — leaving the black wrist hair showing through.
8. 8 Highlight the face along the brow ridge, nose bridge, and lips; paint the eye sockets solid black, then fill the center of each eye with pure white, leaving black around the edge and no pupils, for a glowing, deep-set look.
9. 9 Dry brush the black hair — first a lighter grey, then pure White — on the top of the head, beard, and sideburns to bring out texture.
10. 10 Stipple the sleeve and pant-cuff hair in a couple of layers, mixing progressively more White into Black and alternating dots with painted hair-line strokes.
11. 11 Pick out small details in pure White: the shirt-button tips, sketched-in bottom teeth, and the fingernails and toenails.
12. 12 Deepen the shadows with a Black glaze (Black cut with Vallejo Glaze Medium), applied between the fingers and toes, under the neck, on the shirt, under the arms, and behind the knees, then thin it further and wash it over the hair for extra depth.
13. 13 Paint the base with German Camo Black Brown to match the miniature's original box color.
