How to Paint ROBIN - Batman: The Animated Series Adventures - Shadow of the Bat -- Cel Style

Steps

1. 1 Mix Kislev Flesh with Moonray Flesh for the skin tone and paint the exposed face and arms.
2. 2 Base coat the inside of the cape, the utility belt, and the front rectangles of the costume with Averland Sunset as an undercoat for the yellow.
3. 3 Build up several coats of Marduk Yellow over the same areas until fully opaque.
4. 4 Base coat the tunic and the underwear area with Scarlet, staying off the sleeves.
5. 5 Base coat the gloves, legs, and sleeves with Light Green.
6. 6 Base coat the boots with Merm Green, a darker green than the rest of the costume.
7. 7 Paint the Decay Black areas: the back of the cape, the shoulders where the cape drapes, the hair, and the mask, keeping a sharp edge against the yellow.
8. 8 Fill in the eyes with pure white.
9. 9 Dark line every separation between costume elements with black thinned with flow enhancer, defining the ears, mouth, and fabric fold recesses on the arms.
10. 10 Paint the base with Averland Sunset, the Bat Family faction color, then touch up the dark lining around the feet.
11. 11 Finish with pure black around the rim of the base.

• Decay Black (Scale75 Scalecolor)

  Back of the cape, shoulders, hair, and mask; dark lining throughout; base rim

• Kislev Flesh (Citadel)

  Mixed with Moonray Flesh for the skin tone

• Light Green (Vallejo, Model Color)

  Base coat for the gloves, legs, and sleeves

• Marduk Yellow (Scale75 Scalecolor)

  Final yellow coat over the cape lining, belt, and costume front, built up over many coats

• Merm Green (Scale75 Scalecolor)

  Base coat for the boots, a darker green than the rest of the costume

• Moonray Flesh (Scale75 Scalecolor)

  Mixed with Kislev Flesh for the skin tone

• Scarlet (Vallejo, Model Color)

  Base coat for the tunic and underwear area
