How to Paint JIM GORDON - Batman: The Animated Series Adventures - Shadow of the Bat -- Cel Style
In this video I show you how I painted GCPD Commissioner Jim Gordon from Batman: The Animated Series Adventures - Shadow of the Bat, in an animated, cel-shaded style.
Steps
- 1 Base coat the skin with Ungor Flesh.
- 2 Redo the skin over the top, mixing in a little Resurrection Flesh, since the Ungor Flesh alone read as too orange.
- 3 Base coat the shirt with Moonray Flesh.
- 4 Base coat the pants with Flat Flesh.
- 5 Base coat the trench coat with Bosh Chesnut, applying several layers for solid coverage.
- 6 Base coat the shoes and the gun with Black Grey, avoiding any metallic paint to keep the animated look.
- 7 Paint the belt, tie, and glasses frame with plain Decay Black.
- 8 Since the sculpt has no eyes, fill in the glasses lenses with Purity White.
- 9 Paint the belt buckle with Cold Grey.
- 10 Paint the hair and mustache with Celestra Grey for a whitish-grey rather than pure white.
- 11 Dark line every seam and separation with black thinned with flow enhancer, including the belt, the coat-to-undershirt seam, the hairline, and where skin meets clothing.
- 12 Continue the dark lining into the recesses of the clothing, the texture in the hair, the fingers, and the texture on the gun.
- 13 Paint the base with Stegadon Scale Green, the GCPD faction color, in two coats, then dark line the bottom of the feet to separate them from the base.
- 14 Finish with pure black around the edge of the base.
