How to Paint CASSIAN - Divinity Original Sin: The Board Game

Steps

1. 1 Fix any mold lines and prime the miniature in black.
2. 2 Base coat the skin with Cadmium Skin.
3. 3 Base coat the clothing with a roughly 3:1 mix of Warlord Purple and Black.
4. 4 Mix the armor color from Chainmail Silver darkened with Black and a touch of Magic Blue, and apply it over all the metal armor pieces.
5. 5 Base coat the hair with Beasty Brown, and the stone base he's standing on with Stonewall Grey.
6. 6 Highlight the armor with pure Chainmail Silver on the raised areas, avoiding the undersides and recesses between plates, then add Dead White to the mix for a highlight along the edges.
7. 7 Highlight the clothing in three passes: brighten the original purple/black mix with more purple over the fold tops, apply pure Warlord Purple over the same areas, then mix in a touch of white for just the uppermost edges.
8. 8 Highlight the hair by mixing Sun Yellow into Beasty Brown for a dark blonde look, building up through several progressively smaller and brighter passes — more yellow, then white — focused around the crown for a halo effect.
9. 9 Wash the skin with thinned Flesh Wash, then wash Black Wash over the stone base and into the recesses between the armor panels for dark lining.
10. 10 Fill the base's runes and the whites of the eyes with Dead White, then clean up by outlining the eyes and filling between the fingers with Beasty Brown mixed with Black.
11. 11 Dot in the pupils with pure Black, then mix some Cadmium Skin into the Beasty Brown to clean up the skin tone around the eyes.
12. 12 Highlight the skin, including the fingers and hands, with a couple of layers of Cadmium Skin.
13. 13 Mix a brownish-red skin tone to color the lips.
14. 14 Finish the base with a Dead White dry brush over the runes, staying out of the recesses, then paint the rest of the base in Black.

  Base coat for the hair, mixed with Sun Yellow for its highlight; mixed with Black to outline the eyes and fill between the fingers; mixed with Cadmium Skin to clean up the skin around the eyes

• Black (Vallejo, Game Color)

  Mixed into Warlord Purple for the clothing base and highlights; mixed into Chainmail Silver for the armor color; mixed into Beasty Brown for the eye outlines and finger gaps; pure for the pupils and the rest of the base

• Black Wash (Vallejo, Game Color)

  Wash over the stone base, and worked into the recesses between the armor panels for dark lining

• Cadmium Skin (Vallejo, Game Color)

  Base coat for the skin, and a couple of highlight layers over the skin, fingers, and hands

• Chainmail Silver (Vallejo, Game Color)

  Mixed with Black and a touch of Magic Blue for the base armor color, then applied pure as a highlight on the armor's raised areas

• Dead White (Vallejo, Game Color)

  Highlight mixed into the armor edges and the final clothing highlight; fills the base's runes and the whites of the eyes; final dry brush over the runes

• Flesh Wash (Vallejo, Game Color)

  Thinned wash over all the skin to build shadows

• Magic Blue (Vallejo, Game Color)

  A touch mixed into the armor color for a bit of tint

• Stonewall Grey (Vallejo, Game Color)

  Base coat for the stone base he's standing on

• Sun Yellow (Vallejo, Game Color)

  Mixed into Beasty Brown for the hair's dark blonde highlight
